Widenham is a small village on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast situated just south of Umkomaas. The village is at the mouth of the Mkomazi River. Each year a marathon canoe race is held on the river. Widenham has wonderful views of the sea and inland of the lush green hills. The beach is rocky and a popular place for anglers. There is a large tidal pool, which is floodlit at night. Other facilities include tennis and bowling, and the nearby village of Umkomaas has a championship golf course.
